If
you're interested in purchasing a domain that someone else
registered, but you do not want your personal information to be
listed in the WHOIS directory at any time during the backorder and
registration process, you can place a backorder with privacy on
the domain to purchase it if it becomes available.
If
your backorder with privacy is unsuccessful, you can apply your
private registration to any other backorder.
To
Set Up Domain Backordering With Privacy
1.
Log in to your Account
Manager.
2.
In the My Products section, click Domain
Monitoring/Backordering. The
Domain Control Center opens.
3.
Above your list of backordered and monitored domain names,
click Add
Backorders.
4.
Select Private Backorder, and then click Continue.
5.
In the Add Backorders area, enter one domain name per line,
not including
the "www" prefix, and then click Continue.
6.
In the Email Address 1 field, enter the
email address you want to send
notifications to.
7.
(Optional) In the Email Address 2 field,
enter an additional email address
you want to send notifications
to.
8.
Click Continue.
9.
Review the contact information, which will be used to
register the
backordered domain if it becomes available.
10.
(Optional) If the organization is the legal registrant of
the domain, select I
certify that the specified
organization.
11.
Click Continue.
12.
From the Number of credits to use list,
select the number of credits you want to apply, and then click Continue.
13.
From the Choose how you would like area,
select one of the following:
Use
existing private registration account
Allows
you to enter the User ID and Password for a private registration
account you already created.
Create
a new private registration account
Allows
you to create a private registration account.
14.
Review the Domain Name Proxy Agreement, and if you agree,
select I have read the Domain Name Proxy Agreement.
15.
Click Continue.
If
you have not purchased a private backorder, we add it to your
cart. To complete setting up your domain backorder with privacy,
continue through the checkout process. |
