*What
do I need to do to transfer a domain from register.com to you? |
|
| |
We can accept transfers
from any registrar, but each registrar has a different policy for
approving transfers. Check with
your individual registrar regarding their transfer
policy.
Register.com sends an email message
when they receive our transfer
request. You have three (3) days to reply to that email message,
either approving or denying the transfer,
or register.com automatically denies the transfer.
This is a policy of register.com and we have no control over it.
NOTE:
You must initiate transfers at
least 10 days before your domain
registration expires, or the transfer
may not be successful. If your domain
name expires during the transfer process,
we cannot complete it. Also note that ICANN regulations prohibit transferring
a domain name that has been
registered or previously transferred
within the last 60 days.

*How
do I Transfer a .EU Domain ? |
|
| |
You can transfer
a .EU domain to us the same way
that you transfer other domain
names. However, the transfer process,
after you make the request, is unique to the EU registry.
To Transfer
a .EU Domain
- Go to the Domain
Transfer page on our Web
site.
- Enter the domain
name you want to transfer and
select the .eu extension.
- Click Go.
- Verify that this is the domain
name you want to transfer and
click Proceed to Checkout.
- Continue through the checkout process:
select your nameservers and verify your .EU eligibility.
When you complete the checkout process,
we will notify the EU registry about your transfer
request.
When the EU registry receives your
request, they will contact you by email to verify that you want to
transfer your domain.
After you submit your request, you
will have up to 14 days to respond to the EU validation email and
confirm that this is a valid transfer.
IMPORTANT!
Respond to the email from the EU registry as quickly as possible.
If you do not respond within 14 days, they will cancel the transfer
and you will have to start the process
over again. You will lose the money you paid for the transfer
request and must purchase a new domain
transfer request.

*Transferring
Domains to Us |
|
| |
Transferring
a domain name to us often takes
five days or less, but transfers
may take up to seven days to complete. To transfer
a domain name, we need some
assistance from you.
Domain
Transfer Process:
- You should advise your
administrative contact that the domain
name is being transferred.
- We send an email message to your
administrative contact by the next business day to request transfer
approval.
- When this acceptance is
received, we send a transfer
request to the registry.
- The registry sends an email
message to your current registrar.
- Most likely, your current
registrar sends your administrative contact an email message
to ask for your approval of the transfer
to our registry. Please respond as directed.
- Your current registrar sends an
acceptance or rejection notice to the registry.
- The registry sends an email
notice of the acceptance or rejection to us.
- We send you an email message to
inform you that the transfer is
complete. Should the transfer
fail, we will inform you.
Helpful hints:
- ICANN regulations prohibit transferring
a domain name that has been
registered or previously transferred
within the last 60 days.
- Verify that the email address
for the domain name's
administrative contact at your current registrar is correct.
This is the address we are required to contact to request
approval for the transfer.
- After we have notified you that
the transfer is complete, log
on to your account and verify the contact information for your
domain. Inaccurate or
incomplete contact data may result in the cancellation of your
domain name.
- If the domain
name is locked, the transfer
will fail. Contact your current registrar in order to unlock
your domain name.

*Transferring
Domains Away from Us |
|
| |
The process
for transferring a domain
from us to another registrar partially depends on the registrar
you want to transfer to. For more
information about transferring domains
to another registrar, see that registrar's help.
To prepare to transfer
a domain from us, you must unlock
the domain. There is a 60 day transfer
restriction period for new or renewed registrations, recently transferred
domains, or changes to the
registrant's contact name. For more information, see Locking
and Unlocking Your Domain Name.
After unlocking your domain,
you can initiate a transfer with
your new registrar. When you complete the process
with the new registrar, we send you an email message that includes
instructions for authorizing the transfer
away from us. If you do not authorize or deny the transfer
request within five days, we automatically complete the transfer.
